Škoda Auto India has officially unveiled the new-generation Škoda Kushaq, strengthening its commitment to making European engineering more accessible for Indian customers. Built under the brand’s India 2.0 strategy, the updated Kushaq takes a big leap forward in design, technology, safety, comfort, and ownership experience. With multiple segment-first features, a strong focus on “real automatics,” and a value-led approach, the new Kushaq positions itself as a well-rounded compact SUV tailored specifically for Indian roads and aspirations.
A Strategic Model for Škoda in India
First introduced in 2021, the Kushaq marked an important milestone for Škoda Auto India. Developed on the MQB-A0-IN platform by Indian and Czech teams, it was engineered to balance European build quality with Indian driving conditions and ownership costs. Over the years, the Kushaq has played a key role in Škoda’s growth story in India and has also found success as an export model to ASEAN and Middle Eastern markets.
The new Kushaq builds on this strong foundation by adding fresh design elements, advanced technology, enhanced safety, and greater standardisation of features across variants. It continues to sit alongside the Kylaq and Kodiaq, giving Škoda Auto India a well-spread SUV portfolio that caters to multiple price points and customer needs.
Modern Solid Design with Strong Road Presence
One of the most noticeable upgrades on the new Kushaq is its exterior design, which now reflects Škoda’s Modern Solid design philosophy. The front fascia features a redesigned grille with chrome ribs and an illuminated light band, giving the SUV a more premium and contemporary look. New LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, and front parking sensors further enhance both aesthetics and functionality.
At the rear, the Kushaq now sports connected LED taillamps with sequential turn indicators, joined by illuminated Škoda lettering that adds a distinct visual identity, especially at night. Clean side lines, pronounced cladding around the wheel arches, and standard alloy wheels across all variants contribute to a sporty yet rugged stance.
Adding to its visual appeal, Škoda has introduced three new colours—Shimla Green, Steel Grey, and Cherry Red—while retaining popular shades like Candy White, Lava Blue, and Carbon Steel. For the first time, the sporty Monte Carlo variant will be available from launch, responding to growing customer demand for a more dynamic and stylish trim.
Real Automatics for Real-World Driving
Škoda Auto India continues to emphasise its philosophy of offering “real automatics,” and the new Kushaq is a strong example of this approach. A major highlight is the segment-first eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission, paired with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. This engine produces 85 kW of power and 178 Nm of torque, balancing performance with efficiency and smoothness—ideal for both city and highway driving.
For customers who prefer manual control, the 1.0 TSI is also available with a six-speed manual gearbox. Enthusiasts looking for stronger performance can opt for the 1.5-litre TSI engine, which delivers 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque. This four-cylinder turbocharged engine features Active Cylinder Technology for improved fuel efficiency and is paired exclusively with the proven seven-speed DSG automatic. In the new Kushaq, the 1.5 TSI also benefits from disc brakes on all four wheels, enhancing braking performance.
With 188 mm of ground clearance and stable high-speed dynamics, the Kushaq remains well-suited to Indian road conditions, whether navigating urban traffic or tackling rougher stretches.
A More Premium and Comfortable Cabin
Inside, the new Kushaq focuses heavily on comfort, technology, and everyday practicality. A major highlight is the introduction of a panoramic sunroof, which makes its debut on the Kushaq and adds an airy, premium feel to the cabin. Dual-colour ambient lighting further elevates the interior ambience.
The SUV continues to offer six-way electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation, ensuring comfort in all weather conditions. A feature-rich experience is delivered through a Škoda sound system with six speakers and a subwoofer. Practicality is also well addressed, with a boot space of 491 litres, expandable to 1,405 litres when the rear seats are folded.
In terms of displays, higher variants get a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, while mid variants are equipped with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, offering clear and customisable driving information.
Smarter Driving with AI-Powered Infotainment
The new Kushaq introduces a next-generation infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Built on advanced digital architecture, the system offers improved performance, faster connectivity, and a more intuitive user interface.
At the heart of this system is an AI-powered voice assistant developed using Google Automotive AI Agent technology. With Gemini integration, the assistant provides context-aware voice commands, real-time information such as news and trends, and hands-free control over functions like music, calls, and climate settings. Importantly, the system is designed to understand Indian English accents, ensuring more natural and inclusive interactions for local users.
Safety as a Core Strength
Safety remains one of the Kushaq’s strongest pillars. The new model continues to meet five-star Global NCAP standards, offering six airbags and over 25 active and passive safety features as standard across all variants. Higher trims extend this safety suite to over 40 features.
Škoda has also focused on preventive safety by standardising features such as rain-sensing wipers, rear wiper and defogger, and auto-dimming IRVM across all variants. These features ensure better visibility and reduced driver fatigue in varying weather and road conditions.
Ownership Made Easy with Škoda Super Care
The new Kushaq introduces the Škoda Super Care package, aimed at making ownership simple and worry-free. Customers receive a standard four-year or 100,000-kilometre warranty, along with four years of roadside assistance. Additionally, Škoda offers four labour-free services for up to two years or 30,000 kilometres.
For those seeking even longer coverage, the warranty can be extended up to six years. Complementing this are a six-year corrosion warranty and a three-year paint warranty, reinforcing Škoda’s focus on long-term reliability and peace of mind.
Pre-bookings for the new Škoda Kushaq are open on Škoda Auto India’s official website with a booking amount of ₹15,000. Deliveries are scheduled to begin by the end of March 2026.
With its bold new design, segment-first features, advanced automatics, AI-powered technology, and strong safety credentials, the new Škoda Kushaq sets a fresh benchmark in the compact SUV segment. Made in India, for India, it represents a thoughtful blend of European engineering and local relevance—making it truly easy to love, drive, trust, and own.
